Week Five - The Right Reasons
There is
one reason that I've been successful in the past - One reason that I've
achieved the goals in my life so far:
I did it for myself.
Nothing is more important for a weight loss program than the reasons you are
doing it. And every reason you list should be for yourself. Here are some
examples of what I feel are the right reasons:
- I want to fit into my size 10 jeans.
- I want to walk across a room with
confidence.
- I want to improve my strength and develop muscle
tone.
And the wrong reasons:
- I want my husband to think I'm beautiful
again.
- I want my parents to be proud of me.
- I want my coworkers to see that I can do
it.
I'd be lying if I said that up until now, I've
been doing it for the right reasons. Indeed, I've had other people in mind, but
this week I've identified that.
Now I have a new outlook on my goals.
Now I can honestly say that I'm doing it for myself. I have no one else in
mind, and neither should you. So regroup your thoughts, as I have done, and
make sure you have indeed set the right goals!
